Where do I get clips and pictures?

You can upload personal pictures or pictures from the internet, such as images from google or yahoo that support the file format. However, if you are using material from the internet please be aware of the copyright laws. You are fully responsible for any violations of these protective laws. We strongly recommend that you will be using your personal video clips/pictures/music/music videos for your ShoCast. Clips can be downloaded from YouTube as long as you are not in violation of YouTube copyright guidelines and terms of use. Browsers also have add-on you can install to help pull streaming video to use for your ShoCast.

What should I do if I am having trouble getting audio and video when I am doing the test before going “on-air”?

Make sure your computer is not using another application that would be occupying your camera and/or headset or headphones and mic. If you cannot pass the test, exit all applications and then refresh the Console, by exiting and re-entering the ShoCast window.

My ShoCast started off playing a clip, what did I do wrong?

If you ended your show with a clip and it didn't finish, it will complete itself on your next ShoCast session as soon are you begin your Broadcast (until completion or you manually turn it off).

What is a watermark?

A watermark is your symbol that represents your show. Upload any picture to create a more unique ShoCast experience for your viewers. The watermark will appear in the left bottom corner of your stream and is 36x36 pixels (size) and can be a .jpeg or .jpg only.

What operating system can you use for ShoCasting?

Any operating system is compatible. ShoCast is a web-based program (even though it may look like a download) that can be accessed from any browser.

Do I need to download the ShoCasting application?

No, its is a web-based application compatible with ANY OS and ANY browser.

Is my ShoCast going to be recorded?

No, but you have the ability to record your ShoCast on your own, using an additional computer and a different internet connection*. The Professionals use a program called Camtasia (we are not affiliated with this company) or other similar programs that record screen capture.

*You can record the ShoCast using the same internet connection, but both computers need to be hard-wired. If you experience any interruption during your ShoCast, we recommend you turn your recording computer off. This is due to the limited bandwidth.

If you gain significant popularity, we will invite you to join our Professional line-up. At that point, we will not only record your show and make it available for viewers OnDemand, but we will also provide a call screener for you.

Some of my viewers are abusive. What can I do?

The best way to deal with the situation at the moment is to ignore the unpleasant viewer because they are seeking acknowledgment and recognition. The ShoCaster's motto is: “What you do not wish for yourself, do not do to others.” -Confucius. Viewers may feel secure behind their computer screen, but should keep in mind that one day they may become ShoCasters and would not like someone to act like that during their Broadcast. How do I embed the Shovio player on my website or blog?

To embed the player, simply copy and paste the code from “my ShoCast” page into your website or blog. Since you are pasting this specific code in the website or blog, ShoCasters will pre-populate in this Shovio player. The embed code will also allow you to register new users directly in the Shovio player.
